A Song Called Auld Lang Syne
An original song reflecting on friendship, memory, and the passing of time, inspired by the spirit of “Auld Lang Syne.”

Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns (1759 – 1796) penned the lyrics to the emotive gem, “Auld Lang Syne,” with which we traditionally hail farewell to the year. Burns’ famous song has more than one verse, however, and the original “A Song Called Auld Lang Syne” borrows the lyrics from those forgotten verses to celebrate friendship, remembrance, and life itself. And Burns should know something about life — his was full but short. Burns died at age 37, but he left 12 children by four women.
