Travel Light

The complete song is just below the video.

Every trip begins the same way.

You stand in front of an open suitcase trying to decide what deserves to come along and what should be left behind.

At first, this song sounds like it’s about catching a flight. The ticket has been bought. The plan is made. The bags are waiting. But somewhere along the journey, the suitcase becomes something else. It becomes the collection of memories we carry through life, the loves we’ve known, the mistakes we’ve made, the opportunities we missed, the hurts we never completely unpacked. Every one of them has weight.

We all spend years filling invisible bags with regret, disappointment, pride, resentment, guilt, and nostalgia. Some things are precious enough to keep forever. Others quietly become burdens that make every step a little harder.

The refrain, “I won’t carry it with me,” isn’t about abandoning the past. It’s about refusing to let the past dictate the next journey.

Travel teaches us an important truth: the lighter the baggage, the farther we can go. Life may work the same way.

Perhaps the greatest freedom isn’t found in acquiring more, but in deciding what no longer belongs in our suitcase.

In travel, as in life, less baggage is often the better journey. So pack carefully.
